Chairman’s Communiqué
Respected Members & Beloved Students.
Wish you and the members of your family a happy & prosperous New Year, 2012.
This is the most crucial period for the Institute as the Bill passed by Rajya Sabha has renamed the Institute as “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India” instead of The Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India”. We believe that our Institute deserves to be named as The Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India because we the Cost Accountants are performing work in close coordination with various departmental managers so as to implement cost reduction programmes and method of improvement.
As we are helping the management by providing valuable information we can rightfully be called as Management Accountant. Moreover Bill passed by Rajya Sabha clearly mentions that the Cost Accountants can use FCMA and ACMA in their qualification. As the members of the Institute to be called as FCMA and ACMA then the Institute should be named as ICMAI instead of ICAI.
We request each and every member of our fraternity to join hand and take steps so that the Government in its Lok Sabha Bill change the name of the Institute as The Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India.
At EIRC we will be conducting different seminar for the members on different subject to update their knowledge in the month of January.
Chapters are also requested to actively participate in different seminars and to organise seminars at their chapter also
Thanking you
Saswata Dsagupta
Chairman
