Wish all of you a happy and prosperous New Year. The Institute is now passing through a crucial moment. Our long standing demand for change of Institutes name to “The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India” is seems to be remaining as a dream. I express my utmost regrets that, in spite of our best efforts, our Institute is not getting the name change to “The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India”. Rajya Sabha has passed the bill with recommendation to change the name as “The Institute of Cost Accountants of India”. We found that some minor concession in terms of using the letters “ACMA” and “FCMA”in place of “AICWA” and “FICWA” in the new bill that was passed in the Rajya Sabha of the Parliament. But it came to notice that our sister concern is trying to interfere in the parliamentary process, by trying to use their influence to negate the minor recognition given by allowing the use of the letters “ACMA” and “FCMA” in the qualification.
The bill is yet to place in Lok Sabha. So we should try with our respective capacity to influence the Members of Lok Sabha not to consider the demand of our sister concern and allow to use the letter “ACMA” and “FCMA”in place of “AICWA” and “FICWA” in the new bill that will be placed in Lok Sabha of the Parliament and to consider to incorporate“Management” in the name of Institute.
Admission for the new session is started from 5th of Dec’2011. I welcome all of the students who are taking admission to this course..
